Activities

The core of Scouting involves getting outdoors, learning how to survive on your own, with only yourself and your Patrol members to help you (and yes…some appropriate adult supervision lurking in the back to make sure everything is safe!) Troop 653 prides itself on at least one major outing a month, planned by the Scouts, and supported by the Adult Leadership.

Outings can be anything from an urban bike ride to camping and fishing Black River. We go where the youth take us. Summer camp at Camp Geronimo is always popular and an opportunity for scouts to work on Rank Advancement. We’ve done trips like Philmont Scout Ranch, NM and Northern Tier at Boundary Waters, to Flag X and Pima Air and Space Museum.
