Superstition Backpacking trip

The scouts hiked on a challenging 24-mile backpacking trip through the Superstition Mountains. Along the way, they learned to purify water using chlorine tablets, ensuring they had safe drinking water. The experience taught them the importance of planning and timing, as many prime camping spots were already occupied when they arrived. Despite this, they adapted by finding different sites and setting up camp fast. The trip was an amazing time for everyone they got to learn many things and it was great for testing endurance.

Usery Mountain Hike

The scouts went camping at Usery Moutain. They stayed overnight and packed up in the morning to go hiking. Scouts prepared for Philmont by taking all their stuff and hiked to Wind Cave. They learned how to plan for what trails to take along with how long it would be until they made it back. Overall it was a great time and the scouts had lots of fun

Caroling

The Boy Scout troop sang Christmas carols at a home for elderly people, bringing smiles and memories to everyone. The elderly residents were happy to hear the cheerful songs and see the Scouts. The visit made everyone feel the holiday spirit and showed the importance of kindness.

Urban Bike Ride

The Boy Scout troop went on a fun urban bike ride through the city, going through parks and taking a quiet path. They stopped halfway to take a break and enjoy some donuts and orange juice. Then they rode back to where they began and ate an amazing lunch.

Maverick

The scouts went up to Maverick. It was a lot of fun! They split up into patrols and played some games. One station was tying knots. Then, they went to do a good turn by helping with the service project, which was clearing out the trees After a long day of work, they went back to a delicious meal with pie, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and a turkey cooked in a box. It is a tradition to cook a turkey in a box every Maverick.

Flag-x-Campout

This was an amazing campout. The scouts had so much fun swinging from tree to tree. Flag-X is a climbing course with zip lines, rope courses, and so much more. At Flag-X there are 5 different courses that connect to each other. Black is the hardest of them all and we had a lot of people finish it! After a long day in the trees, we went back to our campsite and relaxed and reflected on the amazing time we had

National Jamboree

The National Jamboree is a country wide scouting event. Taking place at the Summit Betchel Reserve in West Virgnia every 4 years. The massive 10,600 acre reserve provides the average scout almost endless activities to fill their day. The biggest activities include: shooting sports, rock wall climbing, many kinds of aquatic activities, and ziplines. Scouts will also experience the summit apex and leadership heights programs.
Another huge part of Jamboree is patch trading, Scouts will receive patches that can be traded with other patches from different troops. This can provide an opportunity for scouts from all over America to get to know one another.
Though it may seem strenous on occasion, the National Jamboree will provide Scouts with memories to be cherished together forever.

Clark Telescope

The scouts got to go on a fun adventure geocaching. You are given coordinates to put into your phone or a device and you have to go find a container with stuff in it, if you have something you can take one of the items in it and put something else in. They also got to see the largest refractory telescope in at least north America. The Clark was once used by a team of scientists and artists to create detailed maps of the Moon’s surface for use on the Apollo moon mission.

Camp Geronimo

The scout’s recent adventure was a blast, full of cool stuff. They had a cooking contest that let us show off our cooking skills and hang out with other scouts. There were tons of badges to earn, like swimming, shooting sports, and horseback riding. There were so many activities to do like the ace of spades where you shoot two rifle bullets and try to get them as close as you can. They also pitched in to help fix the bridge we built before in the parking area. The scouts had so much fun and would do it again.
